A bold, character-filled rebrand and website for Tap & Can, an independent craft beer bar in Shrewsbury. Combining distinctive typography, bespoke illustrations and a confident colour palette to create a playful, recognisable identity that comes to life across the bar, merchandise and online.

The Brief
Established in 2019, Tap & Can had already built a reputation as an independent craft beer bar with a strong sense of community and a genuine passion for good beer.
By 2023, it was time for the branding to catch up with the business. The existing identity no longer fully reflected Tap & Can's personality or the experience it had become known for.
The challenge was to create something bold, memorable and full of character, while staying true to the welcoming, unpretentious atmosphere that made Tap & Can what it was. The new identity also needed to be flexible enough to work across everything from the bar itself to merchandise and digital platforms.

The Approach
The creative direction centred around what made Tap & Can different: its personality, its community and its love of bringing people together over great beer.
Rather than following the more traditional visual styles often associated with craft beer, I wanted to create something with a strong personality of its own.
The identity brought together bold typography, a confident colour palette and bespoke, character-led illustrations, creating a visual language that felt playful without losing its sense of quality.
Versatility was an important part of the process. The branding needed to work just as well on a small embroidered beanie as it did across larger graphics, clothing and signage.
This approach also carried through to the website, creating a consistent experience between Tap & Can's physical space and its online presence.

The Result
The finished rebrand gave Tap & Can a distinctive visual identity that feels confident, playful and instantly recognisable.
A versatile logo suite, expressive typography and bespoke illustrations work together to create a brand with plenty of personality, while providing the flexibility needed across different applications.
The identity was brought to life through branded T-shirts, hoodies, beanies and other supporting graphics, helping extend the Tap & Can experience beyond the bar itself.
Alongside the branding, I designed and built a new website that carries the same character through to its digital presence, bringing everything together in a cohesive and engaging way.
The result is a brand that reflects the business Tap & Can had grown into, while giving it the creative freedom to continue developing its identity in the future.
